The BenQ V2400W is the fourth 24-inch LCD we’ve reviewed this year and the third we’d recommend. The $600 is the priciest of the spray but offers the most connections and brightest image. The is nearly $200 cheaper than the Dell and skimps on features but not demeanour to hit its rude price. (The ’s lackluster dispatch keeps it off our shortlist.) The BenQ V2400W is comparable in price, performance, and features to the V7 D24W33 but boasts a sleeker point and an additional video connection.
Only the lack of adjustment options give us pause. You may straits to prop the monitor on a phone book to get it at the right height on your desk, but if such an order doesn’t bother you, you’ll find a lot to like about the sleek and cheap–it lists for $499, but can be found online for as speck as $399–BenQ V2400W. Design When we took the 24-inch BenQ V2400W out of its box, the firstly thing that caught our eye was its light gray foot stand.

Although the BenQ Joybook R45’s quotation of $1199 puts it squarely in the ‘entry-level’ notebook category, its meet performance, chic style and wide range of expansion options means it’s a laptop that shouldn’t be underestimated. BenQ’s suspect of style has been fairly impressive of late. From the to this unit’s predecessor, the , the flavour of the month styling has very much appealed to us. The Joybook R45 continues this trend.
Although the faux leather spread over doesn’t look like the genuine article, BenQ has managed to escape the worst of pleather’s usual sins, producing a rubberised surface that feels and looks pleasant. Despite weighing just 2.5kg without the energy supply and 3kg with it included, the notebook has an awe-inspiring array of ports and slots, especially considering it is only 34cm in length, 24cm in width and 4cm in depth. On the left, an ExpressCard/54 fit allows a wide range of devices, such as eSATA haven enablers, to be connected and an HDMI port allows for an easy connection to be made to the latest accommodations entertainment devices. On the right sits a FireWire connection. Four USB 2.0 ports consider for further connectivity.

The camera has a vapid 3x optical zoom (the lens is from Pentax), the aforementioned eight megapixels (the unequalled extent for a compact camera), a rather ambitious maximum ISO of 1600 (can you spot the noize?) and the obligatory movie mode. What really stands out in the 0.6″ stiffish steel camera, though, is around the back.
The 3″ LCD is a touch screen, and by the looks of it, Benq has really added in some killer features: First, you can assign your most worn functions to the fast-access “quick bar”, something a few DSLRs might like to copy (I’m looking at you , Nikon D60). Next are the UI innovations. Touch any substance on the screen and the camera will target on it.

The menu opens automatically when the bottom superiority of the screen is touched, taking the user to the preinstalled function and set-up symbols. Operating the DC T850 by with is child’s play. These are more than moderate specifications for multitasking, watching movies and working on photos or videos, even though its check results were underwhelming. In our WorldBench 6 benchmark, the Joybook scored 65, while in our MP3 encoding test, in which we transmogrify 53min worth of WAV files to 192Kbps MP3s, it took 1min 45sec. Both of these results are slower than what we were with a bun in the oven from a machine with a T7250 CPU; the MP3 test, in particular, is about 18sec off the adjust we expected.
