BenQ MID itemization released.

The first Mobile Internet Device (MID) from BenQ looks more delight in a personal media player than a fully functional computing device. However, don’t let its insufficient size fool you as this machine is more than capable to complement, if not replace, your browsing and email needs. First unveiled at the in Shanghai, the Atom-based BenQ MID will hold a 800MHz SilverThorne processor, 512MB of RAM and a 4GB solid-state harddisk.

HSDPA, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are integrated, with GPS portable as an option. Instead of Windows, the BenQ MID uses a trade drug interface. No info on when it’ll hit retail stores yet, though.

Horng noted that roadway price for the 32-inch LCD TV segment should remain unchanged in 2008, while the price for the 37-inch part may slightly increase or remain stable due to tight panel supply for the segment. The general selling price (ASP) for the 40-inch segment is expected to drop by 5-10%, he added. The company current has no intention of increasing prices for own-brand LCD monitors, but a toll adjustment may happen later.
